Waterville downtown traffic study kicks off
Gorrill Palmer last year did a study of the Main, Spring and Water streets intersection just south of downtown to explore how best to help improve pedestrian access from downtown to Hathaway Creative Center on Water Street and to make the intersection safer for traffic, pedestrians and bicyclists. Exploring returning Main Street to two-way traffic, as it was many years ago, will be part of the study.
Randy Dunton, senior engineer for Gorrill Palmer, ran Monday’s two-hour meeting in Waterville, at which he spelled out the goals, purpose and need of the study and described prior studies. He also emphasized the importance of public outreach to the process. Read the entire article here.

Gorrill Palmer was selected to participate as a team member for locally esteemed developers J.B. Brown. The project developer is building a 5-sory building in Portland that will give rise to retail space, dozens of market rate apartments, and a parking structure.
Gorrill Palmer is assisting Opechee Construction, the design-build contractor, with the Site Design, Traffic Evaluation and Permitting. We are thrilled to be working with such committed partners and look forward to contributing our expertise to such a critical intersection in Portland.

Cliff House Redevelopment Moves Forward
Gorrill Palmer has been working closely with the project team for the redevelopment of the Cliff House Resort & Spa in Cape Neddick, Maine. The Cliff House is a resort that permitted a Master Plan in 2000 to modernize the facility into one of the premier resorts in Maine. Gorrill Palmer was originally hired to prepare the traffic study for the original Master Plan working with the architect.
In 2014, a new ownership group purchased the property and retained Gorrill Palmer to prepare an updated traffic study, site design and lead the permitting effort. Recently, the Planning Board approved the amended Site Plan, allowing the interior renovations to commence on two of the structures, with an intent to re-open those wings for the 2016 season while two new wings are constructed.
Gorrill Palmer is excited to be a part of this redevelopment.
