Gorrill Palmer, a Civil Engineering firm, seeks a nimble, self-starting, can-do creative talent to serve as a Marketing Associate/Graphic Designer at our corporate office located in South Portland, Maine. The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of the protocols of branding, print advertising, web and digital media. Relentless enthusiasm, passion for design and positive attitude are essential. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to partner directly with Senior Staff and contribute to firm success.
Job Description
Provide a high level of support to Project Managers and Principals in the preparation of proposals and states of qualifications, as well as other materials that convey the firm’s image.
Responsibilities
• Develop an understanding of the firm’s branding elements
• Develop an understanding of business development procedures
• Set up, manage, and maintain paper and electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or other material, primarily related to business development activities of the company
• Track proposal efforts
• Partner with project managers and principals to identify proposal themes, featured projects, and staffing including statements of qualifications
• Interview engineers to capture technical project details; transform into fully realized sales narratives.
• Write and/or edit project descriptions, employee resumes, case studies, awards submissions, and other marketing content with attention to detail and in accordance with GP’s grammar and style guidelines
• Generate and provide high quality digital graphics
• Review and edit written material related to the firm’s business development efforts
• Prepare Project “cut sheets” and related materials for use in proposals and qualification statements.
• Assist Project Managers and Principals in preparing for interviews and presentations
• Assist with special projects for Principals
• Managing external website and social media posting including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
• Receive direction primarily from Principals and Project Managers
• Coordinate duties and schedule with Professional & Technical Staff

Qualifications
• Minimum 4+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or Comparable Experience
• Verifiable experience in the development of digital graphics
• Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with managing website and social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Good photography skills desired
