We are pleased to announce that the Westbrook, Maine City Council unanimously approved award of the design services contract for the 2015/2016 Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Projects to Gorrill Palmer. The projects consist of sewer, storm drain and roadway reconstruction, along with stormwater retrofits along six Westbrook streets. The City received four proposals, with two receiving top consideration. A staff report to the City Council noted that although the second ranked proposal was a lower cost, the related experience that the Gorrill Palmer Team brought to the projects was determined to be the best overall value. A key to this win is the extensive CSO work that has been completed by Gorrill Palmer’s Municipal Group in other communities, including twelve (12) projects in Portland, Maine with a total construction value of more than $57 million.
Vice President and Principal Partner, Will Haskell targeted this Westbrook contract as being of critical importance to the Municipal Group. His efforts in drafting the proposal proved essential as he was able to effectively present the company’s breadth of CSO experience and expertise, which proved to be a deciding factor in the selection. We appreciate the efforts of everyone on our team involved in the preparation of the proposal and we look forward to working with the City of Westbrook on these exciting projects.
