Gorrill Palmer has been providing quality, integrated land development, transportation and municipal engineering services to clients throughout New England since 1998. As of April 2024, Gorrill Palmer joined forces with LJB Engineering, a national engineering firm that augments and expands our capabilities.

We absolutely must give a special tip of the cap to the planning board, and especially to Gorrill Palmer, the civil engineers on the project who prepared this extremely complex proposal for planning board review. This is by far one of the largest mixed-use real estate projects to be built in Portland, Maine for several decades. What stands out in having GP on the team is their ability to navigate the regulatory process, including meeting the ever-changing rigorous technical demands required of land development projects, while maintaining an awareness of other critical elements economics, schedule, tenants - that an owner needs to balance in order to deliver a successful project. The difference is that GP brings to an owner's team day-to-day principal level experience and attention that helps an owner set a course and manage the inevitable bumps along the way.

Gorrill Palmer is more of a partner than consultant for us. We have done numerous developments with them over the past 10 years. In each case they heard our needs and communicated them clearly to city officials. Cities and agencies trust and respect them. But it never ended there. Even after receiving all permits, they were advocates for us within communities and in regulatory agencies. They work extremely well with our construction teams and jumped when we needed anything. Most recently we were in a jam and GP drove 3 hours for a site visit and returned to their office to complete the work needed. The revised site plan was submitted to the city and we received our certificate of occupancy the next morning.
